Vizi Player is a media player for iPhone and iPad. It plays a playlist you add; it does not come with content, a catalogue or a directory of places to find one. That boundary is simple, and it shapes how the app works.
Add a playlist you already have
You can add an Xtream Codes login or an M3U link. Vizi then presents what that playlist supplies. It does not search for playlists or provide the material they contain. The person using it is responsible for connecting only media they have the right to watch.
Before connecting anything, you can look around the built-in demo library. Every title in it is invented. It is there to show how the interface works, not to provide real programmes or films.
The playlist supplies the details
Live channels are grouped the way the playlist groups them. Where it supplies guide data, Vizi can show what is on now and next. Films and box sets appear with the artwork and details supplied by the playlist, with a search that looks across the library.
That means the same app can present different libraries without claiming to own or verify their contents. Vizi is responsible for playback and organisation. The playlist determines which items and descriptive details appear.
The player has two playback engines, along with aspect controls, a screen lock and a mini player you can move around the screen. Films pick up where you stopped, and series remember the episode you were watching.
As many playlists as you like, free
Since version 1.0.1, you can add as many playlists as you like, free, and browse them together. Vizi+ removes the adverts and adds features such as the full TV guide and catch-up, downloads and recording. The app labels those features as Vizi+ so the difference is clear before you choose to use them.
Vizi also supports LinkACode IDs in place of a server address for an Xtream Codes login, for a server you run or are authorised to use. You still sign in with the username and password for that server. An M3U link is entered directly. Read how LinkACode turns an address into a code for the separate service's role.
A player, with a clear boundary
Vizi plays the playlist you already have, and comes with no content of its own. That is the whole point of the app: make a person's own library easier to browse and play, while being plain about what the app does not supply.
See Vizi Player for the product details, or read the OMWSD case study about how the company designed and built it.
